Green Opera, January 2012

The Third Grade wrote an four-act Opera about saving the planet. A local composer created a score for the words. The audience was taught: not to buy water in plastic bottles, walk/don't drive, reduce, reuse and recycle and all that good stuff. The only thing I didn't agree with was the Evil Doctor Uranium who plotted to cover the planet in toxic waste--not a very balanced discussion there. But I have noticed our family has become even better at recycling and we almost always walk to the store and carry home our groceries in reusable bags. So, the brainwashing worked.
