Clint wanted to be sure all you Utahns saw how little snow it takes to close the schools around here :). What a fun day! Home from school and the most convienent sledding hill ever. This is at the boys bus stop which has cement steps going up to a very small (about 6 graves) pre-Civil War cemetary that the developers found when putting in this subdivision. It's one of our favorite things about the neighborhood. So, it was a slide down, walk up the steps kind of sledding hill. A bunch of the neighborhood boys joined us (in the neighborhood there is one young girl and about 15 boys--it was meant for our family). It was great fun, but fairly short lived as we San Diegans didn't have decent boots, gloves or pants. Aunt Katie and cousin Luke came to enjoy the event. We had to enjoy it while we could--it may be the only sledding day of the season!

Too Funny. No snow here. It is 75 degrees and sunny!!! Enjoy!!!!
What a scream! Last year 6 feet of snow on the flats and 12-18 foot banks. This year tons too and we didn't get one stinkin' snow day...Sheesh!
Glad your boys got to play in it!
oooh that looks fun! we need to get out and sled too.
I think that's cool that they fenced in that little cemetery and made steps to it. I don't know if Western developers would be so conscientious. 'Course, there aren't so many pre-civil war graveyards around here.
looks like fun! We've definitely had more snow than you. Poor Memphisians (Memphibians?)
All of NW Ohio is a reclaimed swamp (hence the title of my blog) and the legacy of engineered landscape drainage are these school-bus-swallowing drainage ditches.
The scary part is that most of the country roads--and there sure are alot of them--are built on the overburden of digging a network of ditches. Most lack any sort of guardrail system. If we get a couple inches of snow, Bowling Green Schools close or have a two hour delay, because they don't want to put the busses out with the possibility of sliding into a ditch.
Two weeks ago, all schools in NW Ohio were closed were closed due to cold; the temp was a balmy 15 degrees below zero with a wind-chill factor of 38 degrees below zero. The school districts did not want the kids standing at the bus stops.
Now this week, we got 10-12 inches of the powdery white stuff--and school was closed.

Nice!! It was so fun despite the pitiful amount of snow. But like I said - with the amount of crying for Luke to get all dudded up in his snow gear it's hard to tell if the few minutes of snow fun before he got too cold was worth it. But I think it was. And dude - you totally spelled my name wrong. :-)
