We went to the annual Governor's Review of the Guard, where 6,000 members of the Army National Guard, Air Guard and Navy Reserve all paraded at Rice Stadium. Realizing that 80% of those there had deployed to war zones brought tears to my eyes to realize the magnitude of sacrifice represented on that field.
We went to a Veterans Day choral concert put on by the Granite District high schools and orchestras--that was very inspiring. And of course there was the Navy Ball.
Here we're getting ready to go to a Mormon Tabernacle Choir concert that was specifically for the military members of the state. Before the concert there was a reception where former Congressman Jim Hansen spoke. Because Hansen had been in the Navy in his youth, he called Clint out by name. That made us feel important, and old.
If my left leg looks larger than my right it is because I sprained my ankle and it's been a long recovery.
