Cole in Midsummer Nights Dream November 19, 2014

When we were looking to move to Utah six years ago, I researched and compared neighborhoods ad nauseum. One of the things that caught my eye about the Yalecrest neighborhood was a news story I saw about the sixth graders at Bonneville Elementary putting on a Shakespeare play every year. Jenny Pulsipher wanted us to live near them, and I made sure it was Bonneville Elementary. So worth it! The talent among the parents brought out all the talent in the kids.
One blessing of Clint being jobless at time was that I was able to go to every morning practice as a line couch for the Pucks/Pips and Oberon. I had told Cole he should try for Puck because Cole has such an elfish impish quality about him. As it turned out they divided the role of Puck into two roles and gave him the "knavish companion, Pip." Two turned out to be more fun than one as we had them conspire together, argue and play tricks on one another, snd as it turned out, Cole had the final words of the play "If we shadows have offended, think on this and all is mended..." He held back a bit in practice, but he delivered perfectly in performance. The Puck to Cole's Pip was Alex Dolce. The other Puck and Pip were Audrey Glende and Greta Asay. Cole, Audrey and Greta were all in our Yalecrest II ward -- all super smart super fun kids.
The Pulsiphers, Wendy and Emma came to support Cole. Wendy brought a bag of candy in lieu of flowers--exactly what Cole would want. That Cole really is an amazing fellow.

I especially loved the set, made by our inventor/artist neighbor on Yalecrest Ave., Jared Madsen. It feels like the view a tiny fairy would have. So awesome!
