I had a fabulous birthday. Thanks, Clint and accomplice, Katie. Clint hates it when I gush over him on the internet--I get threats of having our connection yanked. But I do appreciate that he's good at figuring out what will make my day. The birthday greetings were plentiful, thanks to e-mail, facebook, skype and the good old telephone! I'm grateful for special occasions when I get to speak to so many of my siblings and parents in a day. Thanks nice friends and relatives--you really made me smile!I gifted myself early this year (in preparation for our San Diego trip that was aborted) and got my hair colored and cut and gave my wardrobe some much needed revamp. I had no shirts without mommy stains!
On birthday night Clint brought home flowers and truffles (Godiva is always a gift for both of us--and NOT the boys) and a great card that I loved! It made me laugh/snort (sadly, ever since I turned 30 a snort has snuck into my laugh. Clint knows he's getting more than a courtesy laugh when he hears the snort).
After dinner Clint presented the cake he'd made, but I didn't eat any because about that time Katie and 4 other ladies showed up to "momnap" me. They took me downtown to a dessert place in the art district. I was ever so grateful they didn't dump me there! Memphis=scary! But really it was the coolest cheesecake place. And the owner was even cooler, perhaps too cool for us because he barely gave us the time of day. But we had a fabulous time chatting it up and consuming the goods. Sarah, I feel like the lamest friend! I must be out of touch, but I hope you had a wonderful birthday. You've got another 61 good years in you for sure!
Are you really aiming for 100? Good luck. I'm learning to skydive at 70. I'll only make 100 if I can jump unassisted safely for 30 years.

That card rocks. I'm sure that your snort was reward enough for Clint. The cheesecake night was awesome. Think how much cheesecake you will consume in 61 years. Oh, so much to look forward to.
