For the doubters out there (Leonard, me) Clint is able to complete a wood project in under 18 months. He began this project two months ago and had it finished in time to stick it in the back of Grammy and Papa Cresap's RV to haul back to California. It was a surprise, and Grammy loved it. She said it made her feel very appreciated and loved. She is. We've really missed them and the monthly visits we got in San Diego. They came out for Tal's baptism (They call the RV the BBC mobile--Baptism Blessing and Cannon). We had them for 8 days and could have had them much longer (there's a house for sale across the street...). And the neighbors were really envious of the cannon that sat on our front porch for the week. ;)
So this is a sewing cabinet that has a three-level lift that is spring-loaded to lift the sewing machine flush with the top when in use, and down below when it is time to close the cabinet. It's made of cherry and maple. The front panels are quilted maple and the banding around the top is tiger-striped maple. Look for the gold shimmering in that maple grain. Clint employed the kids a lot in the project and sometimes I took them off and away.

WOW! All I can say is WOW! Clint, that is pure artistry! Your seams are perfect, the finish work is flawless and the wood choice...WOW! I am in total covet mode for your set-up as well. You need to come visit for an extended period and help organize my shop. You are the Master...I'm not worthy :D !
Very impressed.
I'm impressed with all of the post lately! Then I'm impressed and a bit jeoulous of the sewing table.
I just hope and pray that my boys too remember their mom upon marrying and I hope they marry such a sweet daughter-in-law like you.
I am SO covetous right now...I don't even know where to start!
a-MAZE-ing!!!
Oooh. Ahhh. Need I say more. I'm sure my mom will be jealous when she sees it. That would totally fit in with the style and coloring of our house.
No way! How talented is Clint? (very.) That is beautiful.
