Same Planet, Different Worlds

I'm really bothered by these sores on the inside of Jack's ankles. How did he do that? It looks like a sidewalk burn, but it would be impossible to fall down and scrape the insides of the ankles in identical spots. I've asked Jack about it. He says, "Mom, stop asking me 'bout that! I told you the squirrels kept on throwing acorns at me!" O.K. that cleared that mystery up--not! I'm within 20 feet of this kid 24/7, so when could have this supposed altercation with the squirrels have occurred? And what happened? Did he tick them off so they nibbled off the skin on the inside of his ankles? Or did they make him climb the oak tree barefoot while they pelted him with acorns? Sometimes I think my kids exist in a totally different universe than me. Maybe it's just eczema. But that wouldn't explain the squirrel memory...

It looks like a bad pair of shoes.

Or maybe he is hitting his ankles together when he walks?

Yeah, I'm thinking he was wearing snow boots without socks while the squirrels were throwing acorns at him. They look just like the sores Ellie got doing the same thing (minus the squirrels bit.)

I also vote shoes. Bare feet in those rubber type shoes will do it.

I'm going with shoes for $200 Bob.

Does he wear Crocs? Riley has the same thing. Maybe it is genetic. Of just acorns. Darn squirrels....

Thanks for helping me solve the mystery. It was definitely the snowboots he wore without socks. He wore them for only about 20 minutes one time, so I totally forgot about that. I really need more sleep. So foggy.
